Osteochondritis
Osteochondritis is a painful form of osteochondrosis. Osteochondrosis is when articular cartilage doesn't convert into bone when needed, which results in weak areas of thickened cartilage. It affects the cartilage of bones by inflaming the joints. It is often a specific form called osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), where a flap of malformed and thickened cartilage slowly detaches from the bone.
